Needs - SAP/Business Planning and Consolidation Demo
January 8, 2009, 11:08 am
Does your office run SAP? Need a single point for financial reporting and planning? Something that lets you manipulate your data in a spreadsheet in a CPA-friendly way?
I have a contact that would like to at least demo a SQL-backed product that integrates with your SAP/SQL software (and even without SAP if you run SQL Server). No obligation, but it might just solve your managment reporting needs, or at least make your Accountants very happy.
If you are interested in any way, please Email Me, and I will get you in contact with the source.

Needs - Development/Admin
January 8, 2009, 10:47 am
Talking with a person with the following skills looking for contracts/work:
1. Python or Ruby
2. SQL Development
3. Linux SysAdmin
On the linux sysadmin front:
"I have been using Linux since about 1993 when the first version I could get my hands on was on CDROM in a book and was based on the slackware release. To this day, I am engaged in development of systems that run on linux, whether processing millions of calls per day or running website services."
I've known this individual for more than 5 years, and have worked with him on a high-volume aggregation/processing system in the telecom industry, C/MySQL (replicated database)
If interested in being put in contact with this person, Email Me

New Years Resolution - Start Something.
January 8, 2009, 10:38 am
On new year's eve, I decided to make a resolution I could keep. I would contact 5 new people a day. After about 5 minutes I decided that would be VERY difficult to manage, as I exhausted my contacts - to get me much past January, thanks for Dunbar's Number.
So, I decided I'll contact one person - that bought me some time ( 5 people/day for a week was 35 people - at one person/day, I'd buy a whole month ). Great, but why the heck would these people want to talk to me? Well, maybe if I could do something for them - and not in the "here's what my business will do for you" sort of way. I will try to help them, and barring that, I will find someone who can help them with a need.
Now, I've gotten quite a few "Find me a job" sort of needs - and I'm ok with that. I've gotten "Cash would be nice" - and I think it would be nice too. I'm looking for solid needs.
Do you need someone to work at your company? Do you need a specific kind of job or work or contract? Do you need leads for a certain product? Do you need a product?
So, I'm matching needs - but *I* need to contact people and find out what they need, and what they provide ... so why no email me, and we'll talk.
I'll post "anonymized" versions of needs here to help bring in people searching for stuff as well.
